Thursday Morning Playgroup: Babies, Toddlers, Preschoolers & Their Parents Join us in the Nursery Thursday mornings from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. for a time of play and fellowship!
Library Work Night: Tuesday, March 9, from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 pm. Come join us for furniture moving, book shelf assembly, book shelving, etc. Refreshments will be provided.
The documentary, Ten More Good Years: will be presented on the evening of March 12, 2010. A potluck will precede the film, with dining in the Commons at 6:30 p.m. The film will be shown in the Sanctuary at 7:30 p.m., and is presented thanks to the UU GLBTA Task Group.
All Are Invited to a viewing of the award winning documentaries, The Cove and The Story of Stuff on Saturday March 13 at 7:00 p.m., in the Sanctuary. Refreshments will be provided. Presented by the Social Justice Council Environment Task Group.
Ice Age 2010 - An Exhibit of Mammoth Proportions Private Party for First UU church at Quarry Hill Nature Center: Sunday, March 14, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., 701 Silver Creek Road, Rochester, MN 55906. The entire nature center has been rented for a private viewing of the prehistoric giant Mammals for the church. These four animals - a 14 foot woolly mammoth, an infant mammoth mummy, a giant ground sloth and a saber tooth cat will be on display. Kirk, a UU church member and biology teacher, will talk to us about this exhibit. Everyone (children, youth and adults) are welcome to attend this event and learn about these creatures. Refreshments will be served. Please buy your tickets on Sunday morning (February 28, March 7 and 14) between services so we know how many people are coming. Tickets are $5 per adult and $2 per child. If you are willing to bring a pan of bars, please sign up on the clipboard in the Common.
Ann Reed Concert: Saturday, March 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the UCR Campus Hill Theatre. Join other UUs at a concert featuring one of Minnesota's finest singer/songwriters, Ann Reed, in celebration of Women's History Month. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 or online at www.annreed.com. (Tickets are free to WSU and RCTC students; thanks to the support of The Carol Ann Wallace Distinguished Lectureship at WSU.) A reception will follow the concert across the hall from the theatre.
UnBirthday Potluck Lunch: Sunday, March 21 at Noon in the Commons. It is one big birthday party with everyone celebrating their own birthday at once. People will be seated according to the month of their birthday at a table decorated for that time of year. Come join the fun as you learn who shares your birthday month. Bring your favorite food or if you feel ambitious, bake a birthday cake.
Clara Barton Guild Rummage Sale: The spring Rummage Sale will be on Saturday, April 10, from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. All will be able to BUY many great items! The all-important Bag Sale will be from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m., at only $1 a bag. Start spring cleaning now in preparation for the sale. Pease bring your items on Thursday, April 8 or Friday, April 9 by 4:00 p.m. Thanks!
Appetizer/Movie Night - "The Triplets of Belleville": Saturday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons. Bonjour! We will begin the evening by enjoying your favorite hors d'oeuvre, wine and other beverages and follow with showing of The Triplets of Belleville. This 2003 film tells the story of Madame Souza, an elderly woman who goes on a quest to rescue her grandson, Champion, a Tour de France cyclist, who has been kidnapped by the French mafia for gambling purposes and taken to the city of Belleville. She is joined by the triplets of Belleville, music hall singers from the 1930's. Sign up in the Commons.
